several years ago I had a large dead standing oak dropped in my back yard. did not measure but prolly 20" across at the base. trunk is still laying in my woods just off the yard. I am looking into having another oak dropped that is dying. top half is already dead.

I don't have any use for the firewood. before i pay the tree guy to haul them off, does anyone want them?

Not me, I'm drowning in maple right now, but where is this located? That might get more attention.

Think I already have enough firewood to process from MadManTrapper for quite a while. Working on getting my truck fixed and getting somewhat caught up with work, and then I will be getting back to home improvements and firewood processing.

Was thinking this morning, "Damn, I would like to be able to complain about being bored."

OP - with that said if the second oak comes down and the pieces of wood can be loaded into a trailer, keep me in your thoughts. I can load up the trailer and just let it sit until I can find the time to split it.

FYI maple doesn't season well unless its covered. It rots really quickly.

I too thought I had plenty of firewood after a big maple came down...a year later it was useless.
