About 2.5 months from pending for my last silencer. It went through Ms. Snook. Hopefully the current one will process the same way, or faster. They say that I submitted at the busiest time of the year -- tax refunds come in and people get a gift for themselves. So hopefully things are quieter now, because I have one suppressor app not yet pending and I may buy another suppressor real soon. I figure get them while I can - prices are dropping and inventory is easier to find. I think these things a seasonal.

Two Form 1s just showed up in the mail today. Mailed them in 2/19 and they went pending 4/5. So about 6 months door to door, or four months from pending.

    Examiner was Nancy Flanagan.

Time to go shopping for some new uppers. Problem is one of these rifles is an XCR in 7.62x39, and I am having constant issues with mags for it. So I will probably have to change to a 5.56 shorty instead. We'll see.

Picked it up on Friday from S&J Arms took it to the range and had some fun with the Sig 226 22lr.
The wife hated me when I purchased it but she loves shooting with out any ear protection.

I'm trying to think of the best way to protect the original form 4 with the tax stamp. I have heard of people damaging the stamp and loosing it, and I understand ATF will not reissue it. Should I laminate it or just place it in a plastic sleeve before I file it away? What do you guys do?

I do a double sided color scan and turn it into a PDF file. Nice to have an electronic copy. It is then easy to print out in color. Just print one page at a time and flip it over for 2 sided printing. I keep the originals in the safe and a laminated copy in the range bag.

Several copies (obvious) throw the original in a safe deposit box or in-house safe.

Oh happy day I just received my form 4 for my SWR Trident 9.

    SWR Trident 9:

    Purchased 3/3/10
    MSP Drop off 4/1/10
    MSP Return 4/9/10
    ATF Check Cased 4/18/10
    Approved 8/19/10

    ATF Investigator: Andrew Ashton

I also took both form 4s to Kinkos today and had them take double sided color copies and a 50% reduced copy that was laminated to travel with the gear, the originals will be tucked safely away. Thanks for all of the recommendations
