I'm in the process of purchasing a ruger sp-101 in the 4" configuration. I'd like to find one used if that's possible. I have not see one used OR new in stock in any gun stores in MD. I don't want to buy online/out of state because of the added ~$100 of cost.

I am about to just call all the gun stores in md ( I have a list of about 30 so far) but figured before I spend all that time on the phone I'd ask around .....

Has anyone seen a 4" ruger sp101 in stock at their local store?

If some one could let me know where one is hiding in this state I would appreciate it.

    2A Sales has a 4" in 22lr, and 3" in 357mag, and a couple snub nose SP101's too.

I purchased the 4.3" 357 SP 101 at the Gun Shop in Essex last month. It was the first that I had seen in that barrel length. I know they had a 4.3" .22 about 2 weeks ago. You might call them.

I just ordered a 3" in 357 through my FFL. I'm not sure who his dealer is, but he didn't mention anything about it being hard to get.

    .
I had to call a half dozen places to find my 357 SP101 4.2" and that was before the craziness of 2013. Just make some calls and track one down.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try 3r and united first. Not looking for a 22lr or 3" barrel. Really after the adjustable sights on the 4". The gp100 would cause fit issues.

Talk to Chuck at Tyler's Firearms. Just south of Baltimore. He's got a bunch of Rugers (semiautomatics), and he was able to track down and get me a great deal on my S&W 686 Plus.

I have been keeping an eye on GB. most listings I see are 30-40$ shipping and the few calls I have made are for 60-65$ transfers. Where do you go for a $50?

Which caliber? If you like the .327 Federal Magnum (6 shot instead of the 5 for the 357 and 38), you should be able to special order one from a local shop. It takes a week or so. That's how I got mine.

I'm pretty sure 3 R Gun Shop in Hagerstown has one. Saw it in his display case this afternoon at the Frederick show. I think it was the .357, not the 22LR.

Only interested in the 357. Finally found one (two really but one was $80 more than the other store. ). I'll be stopping by the bank later today.

I'm worried the 327 fed won't be around long. Doesn't seem like it's picked up any steam. It's fizzled out from the start from what I've observed

I cannot remember if what I saw At A&D pawn in Glen burnie was a SP 101 or a 4" Gp100 (If there is such a thing). I do think there was a 2 3/4" 101 there.
Maybe give them a call. Jimmy there will tell you.
