Thanks for the write up John. I finally had a chance to work my 365 out today along with an H&K VP9, S&W M&P9 2.0. all were new and unfired. We put about 250 rounds downrange at 25 yards, grouping within 6" freestyle. We were both equally impressed with the 365. We shot a variety of ammo through it with zero issues. We both felt the 365 was the better pistol today. Sig definitly hit a home run with it. I picked up my custom shop fcu I and am going to build an xl.

Glad to hear it. I have since put a Faxon threaded barrel in it and, without a can, it shoots tighter groups than the stock barrel from the bench. I can't wait for my can to get out of jail so I can try it out.

I'll be looking forward to the review with can John. I was looking on Sig's sight for an XL upper. I was also looking at barrels and considering a can. Sig doesn't offer a threaded barrel for the 365 at this time so I am glad you mentioned the Faxon. This is already a fun pistol to shoot and a can can only make it more funner!

It is kind of amazing how Sig has thrown itself into the parts and accessories market. I remember in years gone by that it took a few years for OEM parts to be available let alone accessories. :party29:

You know you'll probably be close to $1,000 building an XL when there is an XL out there with red dot for about 800 bucks.

Hell, you can buy a P320 Legion X carry with threaded barrel for 900.

SIGs marketing plan looks like it's working.

    That's for sure!

I was looking at an XL at 2A, it was the one with the Romeo? red dot package, 800 smackers.
    I didn't want a red dot.

They had the 365 FCUs there, was like 400 bucks. They had a slide, not a Sig branded, but price was almost 400. So at 800, you still need the frame and whatever else.
Then (why you'd ever want to put a can on one of these), a threaded barrel(if you can find one) is probably 200.
If I were going to do it, I'd buy the XL with red dot and get smaller frames or whatever you'd do with this mouse gun.

All of this reminds me of people buying a sub compact G26, buying after market grips and stuff to make it "larger" and more comfortable, when they could simply buy a G19.

80 percents can be a rabbit hole. Some are very cost effective. Some not. You can buy a 365 for under $600. Easy.

I don't get the XL at all.

It does feel better on the store. But the normal 365 is a joy to shoot. So WHY do you need the larger one? If you are going to carry it, it buys you a couple of extra rounds, but you can carry a non-XL with the 12 round mag and still be smaller than an XL.

So what you're saying is you've shot the XL and it's not a joy?
Longer barrel/sight radius if someone wants to parse it down to those things.
Half inch lounger grip allows for a better grip.

I don't get the smaller one at all.

No one gets better shooting performance out of a smaller pistol compared to a larger of the same model. Unless it fits your Nancy hands much better, since grip is most important.
The larger one conceals just as well.

What's the issue? You really didn't make a better argument for the small one.

One thing I forgot to say about the Faxon Barrel. It has a nice lead cut so that you will have no problems chambering cast lead or powder coated bullets. Depending on which paint is used to powder coat, some have a thicker finish than others and won't chamber in guns with no lead in the barrel.

My S&W M&Ps were like that. I actually had to seat the bullets lower than I liked or sometimes they would stick. (I cured that with a KKM barrel some years ago)

I was looking at an xl slide with optic to mount on my 365. On Sig's website the slide is $300 without optic and $450 with, and I would still have to buy a barrel for for about $150 and a recoil spring and rod for $30. So, if I just get the 3.1" slde w/optic I can save $180. I manage with iron sights but with my old cataract laden eyes, macular degeneration and tri-focals, red dot sure are nice.

The standard P365, with it's 10 rd magazine with the flat mag base is just small enough to work in the front pocket of my jeans and shorts. And I have several 12 rd mags if I choose belt carry.

I have both the XL with an RMSc red dot and the 365. I switch between them depending of what I am wearing. I recently started using the Philster Enigma system and find I can hide the XL under scrubs, sweat pants, or tucked in dress shirts with dress pants AIWB with no problems.

I don’t like the 365 as a “pocket gun”. I am 6’1” 250 lbs (fit not all fat) and it still is not pleasant. My LCP max is waiting to be approved on the MD roster for my pocket gun.

Have you shot one of the standard ones?
