I've heard a lot about the annual Jarretsville VFW gun show so I'm looking forward to checking it out on Saturday. Can anyone offer any insight on what to expect there? Will it be more gun shops or private collections?

Don't set your sights too high. It's a nice but small show. Should be a little of everything there. I go to support the local VFW.

It's small , but not typical Md gun show . Fewer large dealers , more smaller dealers, collectors , and individuals .
More than typical of unusual, older, and C&R , but still some tacti-cool .
Tastes vary , but for me , this is my favorite Maryland show .

In The Before Time it was a great show to get vintage/surplus shooting ammo and some interesting parts.
It's a nice little show, punches higher than its weight.

If I was in town I would go, just like Docster says above I rarely spend more than the entry but it supports a decent local group.

I don't believe 8am is correct. MSI as well as the Jarrettsville VFW's Facebook page list 5-9pm on Friday.

I suspect that calendar means the hall is unavailable starting at 8am on Friday.

Yeah, not sure where they got the 8 AM from, likely a "typographical error" on their calendar. The official vendor registration form says setup starts Friday @ 10:00 AM, show open to public @ 5:00 PM Friday, 9:00 AM Saturday & Sunday.

I'm guessing that's the internal schedule , signaling when the Post Members start setting up the venue , in preparation for the exhibitors to start loading in @ 10:00 .
