Interesting hearing about this recording of the inner workings of the NRA after the Columbine shooting. They were deciding what to do with their annual meeting in Denver scheduled days later.

Some juicy stuff about coordination with politicians, how the NRA board is worried about its "wacko" and "fruitcake" members, and how things could've gone a totally different direction instead of the "don't-trust-the-media" direction.

    Interested in others' thoughts...

Wackos and fruitcakes are proliferating in this country, and are substantially more prevalent today than they were on 1995.

They exist on all sides, and are the go-to people for the media. You might even find a fair number of them actually being the face of the media.

Unless and until the people of this nation opt for rational, responsible debate, we will see an increasing tilt into irrationality, as society destroys itself. Since the media is so prevalent and contributory in this trend, I fear we've gone too far to correct the slide.

They have been smearing the NRA for a good week plus ahead of this . Assuming it is all tied to the fact that the SC is going to rule on the NY Case. They are trying to kill the NRA Still.

    My thoughts are,
Probably not very dissimilar to discussions occurring on this very day somewhere in private business board rooms regarding vax mandates and deadlines.

    WLP is not the NRA.

The NRA is a ladder. The members are the rungs. They are the force. As long as the ladder is there… we keep climbing. WLP is simply sitting at the top in the most visible position.

The left wants to destroy the ladder.

Sadly… many of the members and other folks on the rungs are taking highly visible pot shots at WLP… and can’t seem to figure out that their shots are weakening the ladder and helping the anti gunners to destroy it.

We can stand together… or we will fall apart.

If the ladder's core is rotting, no support from those on the rungs will save it.

Even the government is not too big to fail.

All organisations are at risk for stultifying, wherein the reason for their continued existence becomes continuing the organisation, rather than carrying out the task the organisation was created for.
