$1.80 per lb of brass - which is practically scrap value. If you want to get rid of it, go ahead but you could sell it for that price at your local yard.
If you want to make money: Sort by caliber / headstamp and put it up in the classifieds.
Are there any good places to sell brass in MD besides the online forums?
I noticed the cash4brass program also charges for shipping too, so it would be much less than scrap value.
Post specifics of what you have in the barter thread for trades. Make sure to add what you want to trade (no cash requests). You can ask for: live ammo, optics, magazines, rot gut whiskey, cheeseburgers, etc.
There are no minimum post requirements for the barter thread, just that at least one side of the trade is reloading related. Offering brass is clearly reloading related.
.
ETA- You will get much better offers in the barter thread than you'll get selling the brass to a wholesaler, just not cash payment.
The current supply chain / political climate / pandemic nonsense has the market all messed up. The prices for used brass that have worked for 10+ years are all gone. When you price it you’ll know. If it sells real fast, the price was too low. If it doesn’t sell, the price was too high.
No. The best answer would be supply vs. demand. You can go to almost any range in America and scoop up plenty of 9mm brass for free, thus it isn't worth much. Conversely, someone shooting .500S&W is uncommon and they won't likely leave their brass behind, thus it is worth substantially more.
The next thing to consider is how much of each caliber? I'm always looking for 6.5 Grendel brass, but aren't going out of my way to pick up 20-30 pieces.
Post the calibers and quantities you have and we can give you an idea of what they're worth. Please remember you need at least 50 quality posts on this forum before offering something for sale.
