15-2 and GP100. The GP100 was tweaked with an action job from Ten Ring and coating with Gun Kote. It's hard to capture the beauty of the original S&W bluing but here you go.

A good polarizing filter is perfect for catching bluing! I don’t know that having one for your phone is an appealing idea haha. Park that bad boy in front of a camera sometime!

    "22 SPECIAL"

Here's one you don't see everyday. It's an H&R "22 SPECIAL" made around 1935. Caliber is 22lr. The condition is quite good. The bluing is beautiful for a budget friendly Depression Era revolver. The mechanics are spot on and it locks up tight. The rear sight is a tiny notch that's part of the top break latch, and the front sight is a half-moon made out of brass. The grip is one piece attached by a single screw. Someone mentioned to me that butt looks like a real scull crusher, and I tend to agree. Just thought I'd share.

Just broke this out from Maryland's seven day jail...nickel plated Colt Python from 1965. I wasn't looking for one but was trying to sell a Diamondback and an original King Cobra on the Colt Forum. One of the members there wanted the two I was selling and offered me this Python and cash and some accessories for them. I had to think awhile about it and decided to go for it...I'm coming out way ahead on the deal. I've dealt with the seller before and he's a first-class guy all the way.

It'd be cooler if Dad hadn't used the heck out of it, but it is what it is - Dad didn't buy guns to look at them. He USED them - not only around the farm, but he was also a competition marksman, and as a small-town police officer, that .44 Mag spent some time on his pistol belt carried in the line of duty, among many others. He had plenty to choose from.

Makes it way cooler than some other unfired artifact sitting in a safe or drawer

Most definitely. I have a crappy little US Revolver Co pistol that my grandfather carried when he owned a bar. Thank God he never had to use it, it is not safe to fire. I still treasure it.

Actually...bright nickel plated guns don't usually do it for me unless they have black sights. As I've aged my eyes have trouble picking up the front sight unless it's black or 3-dot or tritium. Nickel plated sights just don't get it anymore unless it's a collector piece more than a shooter.

Having said that...I've seen many simply stunning nickel plated guns.

I can gold plate that for you.

    Thinking of making a pimptastic 80% 1911.
