Basic idea lifted from this thread: http://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=110115

I recently found some Eley Target (yellow box, I believe it's sold as Eley Sport green box outside of US) for $4.99/50rd and bought only a few boxes. Several days later I saw many more retailers offering the same ammo, between $7-13/box. At this time it might not be the BEST deal, but it's certainly (IMO) a good enough deal that I perhaps should have considered purchasing a brick or more.

So, what have you NOT purchased that you wish you had?

Not too long ago there were two cans of IMR4064 on a Walmart shelf. I only bought one. Sure, I've since gotten more, but that second can would have loaded a nice batch of Garand rounds.

The missed opp I really regret is an auction for a 1954 dated CZ-52 I could have gotten cheap. I have nice examples of '52 & '53 dates, but '54 is a rare bird.

    What was I thinking?

When I first moved into town I believe it was, I later learned through MDS, Lou to be selling police turn in 870s for under 200 each. I should have bought two. I want an older 870 bad.

Match barrel, match trigger M1A, or any M1A for that matter. Just never have enough money to afford one, and time is almost out and I still will not be able to get enough money together. Ever since I shot one at 600 yards open sight back in 2008 or 2009 that belongs to a friend that had some extra accurizing work done by Hook Boutin himself, I have wanted one. I have a FN SPR A1 in 308, but I also want a semi-auto 308. There is always the AR-10/LR-308.

I have that exact same regret.

I was in Shooters right after he got the 870s in. He had about 10 sitting on the shelf. I checked them out and figured I would check with the wife first, and find out a little more about them. Went back a couple of days later and they where gone. I am still looking for a decent 870...

About 2 years ago, I walked into my local gun store, and took a look at a really nice stainless steel Ruger MK II with the 8" bull barrel for $300. Again, went home to check with the wife. Came back an hour later and it was gone. fortunately, I did manage to find a similar MK II, except blued for about $300 a few months later on gunbroker.

Needless to say, at this point, if I see something I like, I buy it and don't check with the wife anymore. :o

An AK. Will have to put that off until I retire now, although a move out of MD before retirement is looking more and more attractive.

S&W pre-model 27 5" in excellent condition with original box at a local gun shop last year for $600. Took me a day to realize what it was. Was gone when I went back. :sad20:

Limiting it to the guns I could afford at the time...

Mac 11/9s when they were $600 (around 1998)
Vector Uzis when they were $2400 (around 1998)
Just about EVERY C&R pistol when they were being imported...Lugers, Lahtis, Swedish Brownings. Buy two...one to keep, the other to sell when the imports run dry.
The whole blasted CASE of East German Makarovs that mine came out of ($170 each in 1999)
    A good Lee-Enfield when they were $150 (around 1995)
A Swedish Mauser when those were $150 (around 1995)

Way too much to list but most definitely about 10 $500 RDIAS, or any sub $1500 FA for that matter.
