Oh lovely... of course there's a panic run on 7.62x39 just as I get a new gun in that caliber. Just like how the madness leading to SB 281 began when I was quietly and patiently looking for an M1A with all the features I wanted at the right price.

Is there some sort of reverse lottery ticket I can buy? You know, like where a computer determines what number was the least likely to be chosen and if it's the one on your ticket, you win?

Not much traffic in this thread this evening. Is everybody busy ordering?:)

    Ordering what?

You mean Herter's 7.62x39 ammo in green plastic boxes?

You mean the ones that come 1,000 rounds per case?

You mean the lead core stuff that can be used in an indoor range?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I will thank JettRed for the info. Even though I didn't buy any.

Cheaper to buy 25 boxes of these and purchase the dry box seperate.

I wanted to get the 154gr soft point stuff and that's $5.99/box on sale. I also have a Cabelas CLUB Visa and shipping is only $5.

Not to start a panic, but I've been concerned a little while now since I have not seen Tula 7.62x39 stuff at Walmart for some time. It's used to be as plentiful and that other rifle ammo no one ever bought. I just haven't seen it there for a while.

Have you used any of that 154 grain ammo yet? What did you think about it compared to the usual 122/123 grain stuff?

Not yet, but YouTube reviews claim it's generally more accurate. It's also soft point, so I "could" go hunting with it. I'll try some next time I get to the range.
