The Frederick Community College defines a weapon to include BB guns, pellet guns, and blowguns. (Baseball bats, too.)

    Weapons Policy and Procedures

Read the whole list. The only thing left off are cars and airplanes, which have both been shown to be used effectively as weapons.

That school is the epitome of a soft target. Are all schools like that?

I wonder if a straw used to laugh a spitball could be called a blowgun and therefore a violation of the weapon policy?

Well, if a Pop Tart chewed into a shape that kind of approximates the profile of a handgun results in so much horror, then....

These are cool... I have one and it's super accurate up to about 15 yards (that's all the wind I can muster up. Blowguns

Nice of them to exempt their own staff.

See only employees can secure firearms in their vehicles on campus.

Guess if you carry, have to go home first to secure ...

~40yrs ago from circled window. Silent and deadly. Trust me, you do not want to be hit with a four inch long piece of stiff piano wire, it will penetrate at the velocity from a blow gun.

In the state of Maryland, tie two hotdogs end to end with dental floss and you've just made nunchucks.

    I'm not kidding.

Well, under paragraph II.F.3, "Any instrument or device...designed to look like a weapon, which is or can be used to cause intimidation, apprehension or fear of harm..." is considered a weapon. Pop Tarts included.

    Juuuuust over the line
Before long, a clenched fist will be considered a weapon...

Actually, those kill more people than rifles every year.

One year in testifying against the annual "no weapons on campus" bill, I mentioned
"scary looking, high capacity assault forks that can make FOUR holes at one time"
and told them that I wasn't really exaggerating given what I had seen come through the GA.

A piece of 1/16" welding rod sharpened on one end with an eraser on the other end can be driven from an appropriate sized tube by a compressed air nozzle with sufficient force to completely penetrate (the wire went through and kept going) a piece of 3/4" plywood at a distance of 50 feet.

Dumb phuks are afraid of fear...

I'm surprised that "FEAR THE TURTLE" has not been banned from UMD Campuses.
