Al Sharpton: NRA Believes 2nd Amendment Is Only for White People

“Absolutely, I mean if you look at the Second Amendment it was that you would have militia to protect yourself in case the government came and attacked citizens.”

“First of all, if the government were to come to disarm you, you would not be able to use an automatic weapon to defend yourself. Let’s be serious. We’re in a world of drones now so the Second Amendment would not help you in that area. It is absurd to try to cite that.”

“People do not have the right to unregulated rights in this country. And I think that for those that use the Second Amendment [they] are conceding that they have no argument on why you need a magazine with 100 rounds of ammunition or 30 rounds of ammunition.”

But now to the comment about not having the right to unregulated rights. If you apply that equally across the board, then your right to free speech is out the door and along with your right not to self-incriminate yourself. You know, the old – ‘I’ll take the fifth,’ statements people make in court. They’re not talking about a fifth of Jack Daniels, rather they’re talking about the Fifth Amendment. But hey, according to your understanding, that right has to be regulated also, so you can’t use that anymore.

The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States says:


“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

If every right is to be regulated, then we really don’t have the right to domestic tranquility, or the defense of the common good, nor do we have the full rights to the blessings of liberty and posterity. In one statement, Mr. Sharpton, you have completely dismantled the entire legal foundation of the United States.

But let’s look at one item that hits a little more at home for you, Mr. Sharpton. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery of all forms except for terms of imprisonment. If you are consistent with what you said, there can and should be regulations within that amendment which means that certain forms of slavery or servitude would be allowed. Who’s going to regulate this or determine who is enslaved and who isn’t? It sure as heck better not be you.

Sharpton isn't just a race baiter, a liar, and an idiot, but he also doesn't know squat about the NRA. Maybe should spend less time plotting with Obama how to stir up the racial divide and more time reading history and boning up on fact instead of fiction.
