I wish this were a joke, but its not.

    This is insane.

The Washington post is sugar coating this and calling these illegals 'non-residents'.

They also report that College Park is already 'lost':
About 20 percent of College Park’s 32,275 residents are *foreign-born, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The University of Maryland campus, with more than 27,000 undergraduates, has about 3,600 international students.

College Park would be the third city in Prince George’s County — and the largest — to allow noncitizens to vote in municipal elections, following Hyattsville and Mount Rainier.

Mr. Larsen says that allowing illegal residents to vote is not a slippery slope toward letting illegal residents vote in state or national elections (in interview 9/13/17 with Tucker Carlson). Bologna! That is exactly what it is.
And in this article he states, "...we are a city that values inclusiveness and the voices of all our residents.” Well, shouldn't those illegal residents demonstrate that they value the city (as well as state and federal laws) enough to work toward becoming citizens? We must restore the rule of law in America or we will become yet another third-world country. Just remember what Nikita Khrushchev said, “We can’t expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism. "

Well, here is the proof that Democrats want everyone to vote and not just citizens. Next step, take it national. Citizenship apparently means nothing as do laws.

from another WaPo editorial... "College Park may, for example, take a page out of Montgomery County’s book and raise its already burdensome property taxes to pay for utilities and services strained by a burgeoning illegal immigrant population (a population that may well have been incentivized to live in College Park because of its noncitizen-friendly voting laws)."

The first mistake was giving college students the right to vote at polling locations serving their college community, rather than having them simply file absentee ballots with their home precinct. But, as long as we are opening things up, I've always wanted to be a tenured professor at a major university, so let's open up voting for tenure slots to anyone who'd like to vote (shucks, we can still keep the black ball policy so that those of us who care can stop unqualified wannabe's like climate change deniers and omnivores from getting tenure). And, while we're at it, shouldn't we open up the voting for the board of trustees? After all, UMCP is a community and all voices should be heard.

Since I'm not from Maryland, I assume I can go to College Park on election day and vote my desire. I'll make it a party, rent a bus, and bring 60 friends to do the same. I'll be just another non-citizen of college park voting.

This only applies to local elections - not state or federal. However, I think these Maryland towns are just plain loony to even think of giving non-citizens the right to vote - even if it's just in municipal elections.

Uhm... is there a lawyer among you posting here that can explain to me how a city, or a state can violate federal election laws and allow a non citizen (a.k.a. illegal alien) to vote in our elections?

Well, if we're so upset about Russians "interfering" in the presidential elections from abroad, why would we want foreign citizens to actually cast votes in the US? So all a foreign nation has to do is storm a city on the day of an election and vote, and suddenly our policies are decided by anyone who is able to walk into a polling place.

There are cases where courts have invalidated unconstitutional decisions that were approved by voter initiative. If the State Constitution of Maryland enables these far left constructs, then the U.S Supreme Court should guarantee the protections of a single voter under the original state charter. If one Maoist comrade can invalidate the free exercise of religion in terms of a having a creche on the town lawn, then one citizen should be able to invalidate the patently illegal choice to allow non-citizens to pollute his or her election rights. The democrats will turn Maryland into a Venezuelan styled disaster if enabled to by their communo-socialist's invasive ideology.

Nullify fraudulent elections. Don't recognize the claimed authority of the fraudulently "elected." Their signatures mean nothing for any purpose including access to funds. If the elected hold state licenses, revoke them for participating in frauds.

I never in my life heard a Republican attack a person who arrived here as an immigrant after following all the rules to apply and be processed.

If no games are played by Democrats, there is never a problem. Democrats create tension between groups that would not exist otherwise. Just to get votes? Ugly.

We only have an issue with people who break the law to come here or break the law after they come here. There is a group within the Republican Party that likes illegals as much as the Democrats, they're the people who run the party. They want the cheap labor that depresses wages and the Democrats want more voters, even if they have to wait for a generation or two to get them, i.e. their children.

The Maryland Constitution Article I, Elective Franchise, under Section 1. states that you have to be a Citizen of the United States 18 years old or upwards and a resident of the State of Maryland prior to the closing of registration you can vote in the next election. I guess if you never check their credentials when they register or when they vote they're good.

Non citizens have voted in local elections before. How do I know? From reading a history book that was printed around the turn of the century (the 19th going into the 20th century). These were almost certainly legal immigrants, since immigration was strictly controlled in those days.

Insanity. This should NEVER be allowed. Anywhere. I would not expect to vote in any other county's elections, why would anyone who is not a citizen expect to vote in ours? Should I go on vacation in Paris and vote there? That's simply absurd.

Fly them in from China and Russia on vacation to vote. Bus them up from the tip of South America to vote. Open the borders wide open no more countries. Anything is okay as long as they vote Democrat right?

That's not what I mean, The Liberals thought Prop 8 would fail, but it passes even though California is ultra liberal because it didn't receive opposition from Blacks and Hispanics. I'm not saying that Blacks and Hispanics voters weren't citizens and shouldn't have voted, I'm saying that it can backfire on the Democrats at least on some issues. Also as they (non citizens including illegal aliens) become more affluent they might not want to see their tax dollars wasted on stupid projects and deadbeats just like we don't.

What are you going to say if noncitizens don't follow the liberal party line. Catholics and Protestants from Central and South America and Africans might hold conservative views on many social causes that American Liberals feel passionate about. Will you all of the sudden have a change of heart?

As a non-citizen of Maryland, I would like to send a ballot proposal to Collage Park forcing them pay for new roads and side walks in my town . I'm sure I could get everyone in my town to send in absentee ballots.

Maybe the opposite; maybe people are outraged, and don't want your pearls of wisdom to be overlooked on a second (dupe) thread.
