Just had an order from KM Tactical for HC magazines denied because of Maryland law and not shipping to anything but billing address. Tried to explain that yes we cannot buy and receive HC mags in Maryland but it is legal to ship to out of state address. Also legal to possess HC mags in this state. After sitting back and re-reading the explanation, it is easy to see why they are confused. To a non-resident it's hard for them to believe a law was written that poorly. Such is living in the SOCIALIST STATE of MARYLAND.

I had that same issue last year. I was, however, able to order some 20/30 round magazines online from Cabela's. I picked them up in the store.

According to a relatively recent MSP directive that would be illegal. Even gun stores were informed of this directive which is why gun stores no longer will ship mags to an out of state address. Technically if they wanted to and saw that the purchase originated with an IP address in Maryland they could nail you on it. I wouldn't risk doing it like that.

Hence the popular activity of a quick lunch trip over the border into VA or PA or WV to just walk into a store or gun show and come back out with what you need. Perfectly legal to bring them back into MD already in your possession.

You see where they get you is that they clearly State that the sale must take place outside of the State of Maryland. If you are purchasing these online from the comfort of your own home they will claim via your IP address that the "Sale" indeed took place within Maryland. For the same reason you are required to now pay State Internet Sales Tax whereas before you weren't required to do so. See how this works? So if they wanted to which they will soon. They can and will nail you on it!

If you're worried about them tracing which cell tower your phone pinged off of when you ordered something online, you could drive over the border before doing the "checkout."

I find better deals at out of state shows. Just buy in bulk for $8-$9 for Gen2 AR mags

Once or twice a year a buddy and I take a day off work and take an all day field trip to VA or PA and hit 3-6 gun shops / big box stores that sell magazines and load up.

Good way to spend the day skipping work.

Order from Joe Bob Outfitters and ask they be sent as parts kits

Totally legal and helps a great partner to this website

I love JoeBobs for many reasons. Just wish they would try to get more items in stock at times, but I understands it's been hard for all shops last couple years.

Debatable. I would claim that the the sale takes place wherever the server is located that processes your credit card, not where you are located. Yes it’s a technicality but that’s the way I look at it. Nobody in the state has been prosecuted for this that we’re aware of and knowing the political makeup of the state they probably would’ve bragged about it if they had. Personally I get my friend in Virginia to order what I want and have it shipped to his house or as others have mentioned make a day trip out of it.
Besides, MSP has better things to do than deal with this nonsense.
