I know it’s difficult to put a value on a gun that’s not in hand, but does anyone have an idea what a used Dan Wesson Mod 715V 6” stainless 357 is worth?

Dan Wesson quality control was up and down over the years...when it was made and under what ownership affects value. But to take a guess...I'd say that should be worth in the $700-$750 range...plus or minus. If it has additional barrels and/or barrel changing tools add more.

^^ This...was more thinking 500-700 range. now if you had an early
"Pistol Pak" with everything then more value...

Monson, Palmer, CZ all makes a difference. They have climbed substantially in value, the days of buying DW's all day for $500 or less are over.

Big fan DW's are some of my favorite target pistols, the odd cylinder latch wouldn't be my preferred for carry. Ive been trying to pick up some of the vintage (non CZ) "big dogs" .45, .445 etc. for a couple years now.

    OP -

A very good friend of mine, got a 'wild hair' and took his early stainless DW in .41 magnum to Green Top Hunt/Fish and sold it.

It was a VH-8, with DW's "Zebrawood" grips.

They gave him $900.00 cash for it.
This was about 6 months ago.
(I told him that he was "STOOPID" for selling it!)

He hadn't fired it, since we shot IHMSA at St. Charles Sportsman's Club, in the '80s.

I need to chat with the guy and see if he still has the barrel wrench and if it came with wooden grips or not. I know he has the original box.

Dan Wesson .41 magnums are few and far between.

*****Yea they are. The .41 is a decent cartridge too, but never caught on like some other better known and used calibers.

There was a really cool Dan Wesson .41 at Atlantic Guns in Rockville some time back, and it had the wrench and several barrels, the box, etc.. It wasn't going for cheap as it looked to be in great shape. I'm sure it got snatched up pretty quickly. Rare gun.

I have always wanted the dan wesson with the barrel pack

I've had a 44VH-8 for many years. I bought the VH-4 ported barrel/shroud and used that set-up to harvest a 265 lb wild boar (at 7 feet!) in Tennessee, in '94.

I'm going to complete the 'pack' shortly.

My DW 44VH-4 beside my S&W mdl 60 Ladysmith
