I've got a Cara Cara that had one of the screws fall out and a Gerber tanto that I've had for at least 10 years (how I managed not to lose it is beyond me) that had both the screws holding the clip come out. I've done a bunch of google and duck duck go searches and can't seem to find any answers, it's all about bending the clip back in place, not about replacing stripped screws. Just looking for lessons learned.

Is there a good source for generic screws sets so I can repair these and is it best to get a slightly larger screw since it seems the holes they go into is probably stripped and/or is there a best method to refill or retap the hole with out something like crazy glue gumming up the action of the knife. Any help or advice is appreciate......

Thread repair kits exist. You can go to home depot or lowes to figure out the thread size you have. Then buy a thread repair kit for that size thread and follow the instructions.

Or, if they make a T nut for that size you can install that.

If you reach out to Spyderco, they should be able to tell you what size screws you'd need for the Cara Cara. (And, given their excellent customer service, they may just send you a set)

    Here's a source for screws:

    https://www.knifekits.com/vcom/knife-making-parts-screws-c-60_81.html

They sell those small-sized taps, also:

I'd probably try to figure out what size the previous screws were, and tap the hole up to the next larger size. (I've gotta do that on one of my Emersons)
