    That's my thought.
Someone that, on top of the fact they shouldn't be handling a loaded firearm in a car at a gas station, shouldn't have a firearm at all let off a shot dicking around. Seems like all three people knew each other. Witness, suspect, and victim. Witness calls 911 panicked and says someone was accidentally shot. Victim and suspect flee. Victim later calls 911 because medical attention is needed and claims they were shot during an attempted robbery. Police go to the scene and can find not evidence of an attempted robbery.
