Universally ignored and unenforceable, PD's aren't enforcing it, even the head A-holes keep claiming they are relying on "voluntary cooperation" , it's basically a joke with a ton of loopholes if they ever decide to push it. I wouldn't worry about it.

That's what I figured, thanks. Basically the same attitude that MSP had here when Hogan put out travel restrictions for vistors back in March/April.

Wanna go but don't like people/crowds very much. Went to Chantilly once and never again. Is the York show well attended? Better day/time to minimize that what makes me twitch? Is Saturday's
weather forecast likely to increase or decrease the twitch factor? Don't really need anything but Christmas is around the corner so...

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences with the show.

The October show in York was different from the 5 or 6 York shows I have been to before. They used a different hall/building on the fairgrounds and the tables were well spaced, actually spacious. Made for a much more pleasant experience. Prior shows were very tightly spaced and if the crowd was large, it was tough moving around. I hope they keep using this 'new' hall.

Thanks! I skipped on the previous York show for a variety of reasons. Just realized Gettysburg is the following weekend and is 1 hour closer to me. Decisions...

Can anybody advise how this works? I live in Maryland of course, want to go to one of the PA gun shows, probably gettsburg since its much closer. I'm looking for a legal AR-15. Can I buy one there with PA FFL? or I have to get it transferred to a Maryland FFL? or if I buy it from PA FFL, when I come back to Maryland I have to register with Maryland ? thanks in advance for any advice

If it's an AR that's Maryland legal a PA FFL can do a transfer like any other long gun. Some PA dealers may not want to which is their prerogative. Then you need to find a MD FFL to do the transfer which will require extra costs for the service. Brian at SCSG is usually at Gettysburg and would do such transfers.

If you have a smartphone, you can connect to the MSP website with a list of banned and legal rifles to prove the rifle you're looking at is legal. I've done that...it makes the FFL holder sure he's not in violation.

I bought my Eagle Arms AR at the york show years ago. As long as it's an HBAR and can pass a background, you'll be walking out with it that day. Just make sure you bring yourself back some 30rd mags while you're there.

yes I'm looking for the legal AR with the HBAR. so if you walk out there with it, when you get to Maryland, any other forms to fill out? (registering/etc)

Gettysburg show does not indicate "verified" on the gun show web page. It may get cancelled so check before you go.

Verified on which gun show page?

    If you're talking about
http://www.thegunshows.com/, that isn't a generic gun show page, it is the home page for Appalachian promotions. Gettysburg is not run by that promoter, so you will never see it listed there.

Gettysburg is run by Eagle Arms Productions and is still listed on their page.

Thanks. I wonder what they base the 'Verified' tag on. Probably calling the promoter?

If so that may a good resource for double checking Appalachian shows... they are pretty bad about updating their own web page. For example, shows can appear in 3 places... 'Upcoming events', '2020' list of events, and each location has its own page. Rarely do all 3 agree, and there are often previous year events that never get deleted.

SCSG will be there at York this weekend, we can handle any transfer needs for MD residents. We will have lots of standard things for pistols and rilfes as well:innocent0

I am planning on heading up sat morning to this show.... I am looking to pick up a Glock 30s. Provided I can find one, how much higher are prices there as opposed to a local shop? I am seeing them for about 675 - 700 out the door after taxes, transfer fees (if I buy it on line and transfer it in), etc. I know prices are high in these times but am curious how much higher gun shows are as opposed to just at a local shop ?

That can't really be answered. Someone could make a comment about something they've seen on a particular occasion, but there is almost certainly someone else with a very different story.

I've seen huge variations in prices for the same item at the same show from different vendors. Sometimes I've seen really good deals, other times I've seen ridiculous prices that will literally make you laugh out loud.

If you're looking for a deal your best bet is to walk the whole show first. The downside is, in today's market something you passed on in search of a better deal could very well be gone when you come back around.
