My vote is for a reflection. The distance between the foxes eyes and between the background "eyes" seem to be identical. I caught this on one of my camera s earlier this year and the same pattern holds, unless there is a dragon in the background. Given that it was 2020, I can't rule out the dragon, though.

I do hope it's a Cape Buffalo. It probably isn't, but I'm hopeful.

Here are the two photos with the mystery night photo overlayed the daytime photo to get a sense of the eyeshine location.

As everyone knows from watching CSI:Whatever, all you have to do is bring up the image on your computer and then say, "Enhance!" ... and that will show you what's really going on in the background.

But seriously: less expensive sensors and lenses are famous for bouncing light around inside the assembly. Under the right conditions and contrast, you'll see mirror image placement, relative to the center of the lens. The dead giveaway is the perfect symmetry.

Very interesting. Thank you. I guess that solves it. I guess it was just perfect conditions to do it. That camera produces about 1000 pictures a month and I've never had that before.

I enlarged the pic and seen that it apparently is no body of what ever it is. It looks like a reflection and shape of a head but nothing more. Its still hard to say what you will have come up when you are serving ribs for free.
