This one was on my door. I was tempted to slide him over to the bushes nearby but figured he knew what he was doing.

Box turtles outback of my house. They are pretty tame and walk up for food if they hear you. I feed them rasberries and tomatoes from the garden where they hide mostly. The small one is the size of a quarter and one that hatched last fall. There are about four little ones running around. They have been laying eggs each year

 Our place is thick with them as well. We have a couple that will approach for food if they see us. Apples slices are always well received. They always freak out for earthworms though.

This guy was on my deck rail today, and he insisted on being my friend. As I came in to get a photo, he walked over, climbed over my phone and strolled up my arm. I put him back on the rail, then he jumped on me. Put him back, but he followed my every move. I think we were both equally enchanted :innocent0 :lol2:

If it tried to bite your head off, it may have been a smitten female…

I missed the last few updates here. Beautiful pictures of the mantis and the box turtles. I don't think I've ever seen a group of box turtles together like that, very cool.

I'm changing your screen name to Green Frog.

I'm about 90% sure that is either a female or immature bullfrog in the pic.

See the circle behind the eye in the first pic? That is an eardrum. I 'think' that large, external ear marking is unique to bullfrogs. It is usually smaller and less noticable. Any amphibian experts feel free to correct me.

I do have a full grown backyard bullfrog that hangs out on my pool cover every spring too... ;)
