I just saw part of a YouTube video about this (forget to save a link), but the guy was talking about the metallurgy and creep. It seems, for creep to be at all significant, the storage temperature needs to be about 50% or so of the melting point.

SO, if you store your mags at over 500 degrees, it would be an issue.

OH SH!T! I had better get my Magpuls out of the kiln then... :outta her

I'm thinking of getting a couple of these to help with magazine rotation. And chips.

Kiln?! You fool! Five minute in the microwave is MORE than enough...

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who said that the Microwave Method is the way to go, but only if the mags are loaded.¹

¹Please read the following required disclaimer (because, sadly, today's society requires one. :()

The above statement was merely an attempt at humor, and SHOULD NOT actually be attempted in any way.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, DO NOT PUT LOADED MAGAZINES IN THE MICROWAVE.²

² Unless you and your former coworkers happen to be Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, Kari Byron, and Tory Belleci. (Grant Imahara RIP) In that case, if you'd like to put loaded magazines in the microwave, have at it. :D

Honey! I’d love to go visit your mother, but this is the weekend I set aside to rotate my magazines! You know how important that is for our family’s safety, right?

    See…it is important!

I don't bother rotating mags but I do number them to help me keep track of any possible problematic mags. In all my years I've only had 2, and they were PARA mags.
