    Behind enemy lines...
Did a search thru the forums and found an informative thread discussing optics for this rifle, but was wondering any any members could relate their experience or provide opinion on Windham's 308 itself? Specifically, the R16FTT308 model. Use would be mainly punching paper at longer ranges. tks..s

No experience with the windham 308 but plenty of experience with a 16" 308. For long range it sucked. The 16" bbl just couldnt burn all the powder in the case and I got vertical stringing that got worse with range. A 16" 308 has its place but if you want to punch paper at long range i would suggest a 20" bbl or longer. Anything shorter and its hard to get an accurate dope due to the diffrence in velocity from one shot to the next because it couldnt burn all powder. If you handload you can pick specific powders that will help but still wont totally alleviate the problem.
