Anyone? I see all these stippling jobs people post and think they all look stupid. Good for you, you have a soldering iron and a glock that looks like it has VD. I don't know, maybe it's just me... but I HATE stippling. What's your opinion?

Put me in your camp, I'm not a fan either but to each his own.

Nope, you are not the only one. I think it ruins the look of something. I really have not seen one stippling job that I have liked. I have seen some that are quite heinous.

Add me to the group. Have not seen a stiple job yet that looked good. And if it was done for gription, they make grip tape made of rubber or sand paper now. Just a ruination of a firearm that does not need anything but bullets to be fed.

I agree with you. If someone wants to do it, then it's their property. I consider it damage.

I've seen some good examples of it and I think it is a cool art. However, I have some rail covers on one of my ARs that mimics stippling and I have to admit, I'm not crazy about the feel. It kinda feels like holding onto a piece of dried cheese.

There is a thread currently on the NC forum where folks are showing off their stippling. None of it looks good.

Now let me think about this, and what we have here....

You spend the morning with a nicely figured wooden stocked vintage Remington? You then spend the afternoon looking at stippled Glocks?

Now I can't be sure. But wouldn't that be kinda like going from Marilyn Monroe to say....Janet Reno?

I could care less how it looks. If it's a working gun, in my mind, it's a throw away. In 2 or 3 years it will be replaced by another working gun. It has one job to do and with any luck it will never do that job. I hate stippling because it rubs my side. I covered up the factory grip texture on my gen 4 G-19 for that reason.

Not a fan either. I bite my tongue every time someone makes a "look at my stippling job" post.

Not a fan, if you feel the need for a textured griping surface, checkering is the way to go. I don't have any thing that is stippled, but it always reminds me of a wood rasp when I see it.

Wouldn't do that to one of my guns. If I want more grip, I'll use judicious amounts of skateboard tape. If I can't stand the stock grip, I sell the gun. Which is why I don't own Glocks anymore.
