    The ‘Dena - DPRM
All of the Parkland kids would’ve been right at home posing for a propaganda poster and turning in their neighbors for resisting gun confiscation back in the 30’s.

At some point the Hogg will get lazy and one of the chans that can’t stand him will dox or expose some weird proclivity of his and the left will drop him like a bad habit, like they did with Eichenwald

A friend at work refers to Hogg this way:

How can he expect to be taken seriously when his parents still cut up his meat on his plate for him?

I know a New Jersey based Waste Disposal company I'd like him to try to shake down.

"Hey Guido - when I was spraying doze PCBs along the road last night there was some little chunks in there. Whatsup wid dat?"

    Looks like they caved.

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/3111...m_content=062316-news&utm_campaign=benshapiro

CBS News reported that Publix caved to the leftist pressure and intimidation tactics, announcing that they have decided to "suspend corporate-funded political contributions as we reevaluate our giving processes."

"We regret that our contributions have led to a divide in our community," Publix said in a statement to CBS News. "We did not intend to put our associates and the customers they serve in the middle of a political debate."

The other day, folks were setting their own taint hairs on fire, sending angry e-mails, and cancelling their Netflix accounts because they're running an Obama series.

If it weren't for hypocrisy, we wouldn't have the internet.

Either it's OK to boycott companies based on political views or it isn't.

This. Why are grocery stores supporting political candidates? They should only be concerned with making money.

Adam Putnam is the sitting Commissioner of Agriculture.
Publix is core business a grocery store.
Presumably the Commish of Agri oversees the food biz .

Dropping a few bucks on the candidates who potentially regulate you/ your Industry is accepted/ standard practice/ cheap insurance.

Publix , and probably everyone else in related industries now catching crap from the antis/ SJWs , because Putnam is now running for Gov . If a different GOP cabinet level Secretary ir Commish were now running for Gov , the Anti's would be attacking the largest players in the industry they regulated.

Perhaps in the past when you could support candidates and no one would know or care. Everything's so politicized now you'll end up alienating 50% of the public.
Stick to making $$ and avoid negative press, even at the hands of people like Hogg and the hardcore antis.

Bad luck for Publix ending up in the hot seat right now , but the system is institutionally entrenched , and the Pols still need their cash flow . Unilaterally cutting off will have legislative/ enforcement consequences for your large business/ industry .

Getting back to the core of this thread...

If Hogg & Company are extorting money from multiple businesses, doesn't that fall under the definition of "Racketeering"? If they were merely asking companies to change behavior, that's one thing. But demanding donations in exchange for businesses not being harmed, as an ongoing enterprise, is the same thing The Mob does and can earn someone serious time in Federal prison. Has that line been crossed, and should the DoJ start investigating?

Because some politicians push policies that hurt their ability to conduct business, and some politicians push policies that help. The question is, why don't MORE businesses say out loud what does and doesn't allow them to flourish, continue to employee people, and provide their services in a way that keeps them there and paying those taxes? Providing a little support to the campaign of a politician that doesn't act like Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders (who, like so many lefties, vilify business owners) is rational and appropriate.

The Democrats hate it when businesses act rationally in that regard, and so they're very happy to trot out a useful idiot like Hogg - on a completely phony, unrelated matter - to make them shut up. Hogg is a puppet for wider leftist political machinery, period.

That's just a symptom of the intentionally-adversarial political system we have in place. You will find opposing groups on just about every issue. Mr. Hogg has a right to speak his mind, and you would likely find that folks here would defend his right to do so ... regardless of their disagreement with the content. However, I will note that one group is NOT advocating for government seizure of the other's personal property - ownership of which is codified and protected in the US Constitution. That's a subtle-but-important detail that shouldn't be lost.

And just because I recognize Mr. Hogg's right to open his mouth and spew crap, that doesn't mean I will jump on his bandwagon and support him. Taking the opposing position isn't hypocrisy.

There is a meme on Facebook about State Farm not insuring companies that are in the firearm industry. People are upset. Of course, some of the same people were pissed that SCOTUS said some bakers had to bake a cake for a gay wedding. Direct correlation. 1A, 2A. Where does it end and what is reasonable?
