Ok here goes...List your 10 Essential Rifles for Collector Shooters (not multiple variations of the same style rifle though).

    Here's mine:

    AR15 (Any variety)
    AK47 (Any variety)
    Mauser 8mm (98K, 24/47, or M48)
Mosin Nagant 91/30 (round or hex)
    .22lr Bolt Action (any variety)
    Ruger 10/22
    M1 Garand
    1903 Springfield
    Enfield Mk IV No. 1
    SKS (Any variety)

As I'm sure for others this list partially resembles my safe inventory and a few still on my wish list.

    What are your 10?

I made a list and noticed it's the same as yours except for a K31 instead of a .22 bolt action.
But if I was a millionaire, it would certainly be a radically different list with mostly machine guns.

Needs to add an either Winchchester 94 or Marlin .
Rem 700 or Win 70, cal open.
7x57 is very interesting cal. Could be in either an origionakl Mauser, or modern rifle.

On origional list, if aiming for 10 having an AR, AK, and SKS , one of them is redundent.

Give thought to a psitol cal carbine , depending on preferences could be semi or lever. A .44 mag would overlap into being a real rifle in its own right.

I am willing to be very redundant on the bolt guns because it kinda forces me to take it real slow and get the most enjoyment out of it and I focus on nice tight shot groups and learning things rather than blasting away and just trying to hit a mansize target at 100 yrds most of the time(which can be fun too at times). Plus I save on ammo.

Interesting how the AR is left off of many lists. Considered to be a modern rifle, it really isn't with just over 50 years since the design originated. Consider also it is now the longest serving primary battle rifle the US Military has ever issued. I might sub the .22 bolt for either the lever gun or a Rem 700 as the 10/22 fills the all purpose .22 needs.

I left the AR out of my list purposely to stir controversy among the AR crowd :D Its a good rifle but ammo is a little high and I feel rebellious by not having one.

I don't align myself with the AR, AK, or any other crowd personally. I have one of each, among many others. I enjoy each type of rifle for different reasons and enjoy being able to pick from the safe for my range trips
based on my whims of the day. Nothing like the looks you get shooting a 91/30 with the bayonet installed...lol

Hmm, this is a dangerous list...

    1. AR-15 (A1 style)
    2. M14
    3. M1 Carbine
    4. M1 Garand
    5. M1903A3
    6. FAL
    7. AK47
    8. Swedish Mauser
    9. Winchester 94
    10. 1874 Sharps

I don't have any of those yet... I have an AR-15, but it is more M4 than M16 and far from A1. This is an expensive little shopping list...

Oh and I had to drop the Remington 700 done up to cheaply mimic a M24 off the list, even though it looks like that is my next rifle purchase...
