I love my DE and shoot it a LOT. I actually shoot it better than some of my other handguns, and believe it or not it has never had a failure at all. I did send it out to MRI right after I got it though to get the bolt jeweled, ported/polished and tuned, and Millet Sights added. I recommend having them tune it for you since I've heard they aren't the best reliability wise out of the box.

Enough of the banter - lets see some pictures!

I took a couple last night when the wife was packing for training to go to Afghanistan (she said "here, this would be cool in the pics - her body armor) - so I should have pics up later tonight or tomorrow since I'm driving her to Ft. Dix in NJ this afternoon.

LOL guys. I figured that had to be some other guys on here with pics.

I'll get some up today. We got back from Ft. Dix late last night otherwise I would have put some up by now. :)

The obligatory wife and daughter foot in the photo - Both of them enjoyed it, especially my daughter since she was trying to steal my ammo the whole time.

I was just at Ft. Dix yesterday. Don't know how I managed to stay awake the whole way back since I was falling asleep on a concrete floor just before heading back.

I've never been a huge Desert Eagle fan but that one is a very pretty specimen

    Very nice!

Desperately want one in 50AE to go with my AR. I'm going to find one in black oxide and pay to have it tiger-striped similar to the factory pattern :D

The basic "Home Defense" model- 44 mag with Meprolight night sights and 240gr Hydra shoks.

For when something goes bump in the night... this will go BOOM.

Thanks. Yeah, the drive sucked, especially in the rain after I just dropped my wife of 18 years off, knowing she is going to the 'Stan in 2 weeks. Not a fun drive...

I do love that gun, only shot one before, but the fireball outta that thing was nothing short of glorious

You gotta love a 3ft flame shooting out the front. I always said, if I didn't kill em' I'd burn em'.

    Very nice!

The 50AE is pretty much just to burn cash. If you have it, go for it. I have shot every DE in every config they have, with 13in barrels, reflex sights, 50AE with breaks, ect. (a rich guy used to bring 5-6 with him to the range I went to in Southern Cal. when I was growing up and would let me shoot them since I always brought my Dad's .44 DE and S&W 686 6" and did decent with them.
The 50AE doesn't have that much more kick and isn't any more fun to shoot than the 44. Considering the cost of brass nowadays, it is just for bragging rights, which I am cool with too, just not willing to pay for yet. I can do it very easily though with a barrel and mag. addition in this gun since the bolt and gun are setup for the .50AE, so adding it in the future isn't a big deal.
I bought the .44 to be a shooter though, and it is, I have yet to go to the range and not bring it. Something about shooting it that brings a smile to my face REGARDLESS of what is going on in my life.
You can bet your A%% I'll be going to the range this week if I can find a baby sitter, too much stress going on!

Sexy!! May I ask where you got?

Short story - I ordered it in N. Dakota straight from MRI via an FFL in Bismarck.

Long Story - My parents got divorced after I went in to the military and my Dad sold off most of all the firearms which I thought I would get handed down to me one day. Well my Mom died in a fire and worked at Walmart. I decided I would purchase something with the couple dollars walmart gave to us 3 kids that I could pass on to my kids and always keep. This is what I decided to buy since I grew up shooting a .44DE in Black (only one auth. in Cali). I decided to get the blinged out version and also send it back to MRI for all the accouterments to make it even more fun :)

It is by far my favorite gun and purchase I have ever made. I can shoot it pretty decently and it has never malfunctioned (kind of known for this, although I don't know the truth to it), so that makes it even more fun.

I've used it as HD out of necessity, but wouldn't recommend it.

You are correct my friend. It is one of those guns that you pull out and it always garners a response. It is even more fun when you can shoot it and it goes boom every time.
Couldn't afford to shoot it? I think I'm only paying $32 a box of 50 at Walmart, granted I was paying $16 a box (internet) back when I bought it about 8 years ago.

Thanks to all your posts, I have been on the phone tonight trying to conjure up a babysitter so I can burn off some of this steam at the range.
No luck yet, but hopefully I can get out by this weekend.
I won't lie, this whole situation sucks to the high heavens for both the wife and I. I've done my service in the Desert, so I know the application and reasons to which I also agree it is her duty, but it still sucks none the less when you have a child involved and it is a YEAR. This makes my 6 month long tour look like a walk in the park....
