Will they ship it directly to me or do I have to use a FFL?

If you can prove the bauxite ore used to make this was mined prior to 30 Sept. 2013 it is direct ship.

Otherwise it is banned except for the HBAR (Heavy Brick Aluminum Rectangle) version which is FTF legal.

    Damn. Somehow I need this.

Make your own furnace- perlite and fire cement, maybe some koawool and/or insulating fire brick.

The hard part is the pattern... can't use an existing lower 'cause aluninum shrinks about 10%. This is where 3D printing might be helpful - print the pattern 10% bigger.

    Anyway, that's what I've heard...

You can even purchase special 3d printing filament to be used for lost resin casting. https://www.machinablewax.com/product.php?product=52

The great thing about this approach is that it can be used to make other parts too like uppers too.

Wow - for a second there I thought I was in the Water Cooler forum

I thought carefully about where to make my initial post. The non-watercooler threads are extremely useful and informative sources of information. There are thousands of people who sense a disturbance in the force, with respect to firearm laws and ownership, but have no idea why, or where to turn for useful information. Some of them end up here at MDS. For a few (like me), it changes the trajectory of their lives in some way. That is not hyperbole. Every post outside of the water cooler has the potential to do the same for some future member. So even though my post was laced with a heavy dose if sarcasm, to incite a few laughs, from those I like to call friends. It’s also intended to give those less knowledgeable a chance to understand the absurdity of some of the political nonsense we are assaulted with on a daily basis.

So yes, I agree with Ed. It’s for the children. Not right now when they should be playing with toys or riding their bikes, but for when they grow up. The information ideas and the information to carry out those ideas, needs to remain accessible, so that they can help continue the mission of America’s founders, and not allow themselves to become brainwashed slaves of some future corrupt socialist party state. I can’t believe it’s even in the realm of possibilities, but as I grow older and pay more attention to the world, I realize it is.
