I was looking on the Duracoat site to order some things to coat my long range rifle barrel and action. And I ran across some interesting things.

One is a Duracoat coating that simulates bluing. It is semi transparent to give the deep look.

Also one to look like Parkerizing.

Also browning and Anodizing like coatings.

They also carry Manganese and Zinc actual Parkering chemicals.

I’ve used both the durablue and Durapark finishes on many of my builds.

I don’t find either to be as tough as cerakote, but they require a lot less prep and no baking which is nice.

The blues show my prep work or lack thereof more then the normal Dura coat, meaning if there are waves from not great weld grinding they pop out just like norma blueing. Also if you use bondo or another filler, it seems to absorb both the blueing and parking spray finishes more then the regular Dura coat. So you’ll see definite spots if you don’t prime, which seems to reduce the Duracoat product line adhesion.

I’ve had bad luck color matching durapark. The black is very hk-like but everything else comes in kinda funny. Hard to describe. I might have some decent color shots of the various shades or can come up with some. I think I’ve used ievery color in their lineup.
