Started playing with new hornady dies for 41 Remington mag. Went to resize a case and it wasn't even close to fitting. Tried putting some lube on it, still no dice. Called hornady, Tech working from home. Asked me to send pic with calipers showing ID of die. .425". Saami shows .434" mouth.

I bet they make it right, or maybe I'm just plane stupid and missing something, figure I'd ask here. It's the TN dies, so no lube required. Factory once fired brass.

    Thoughts?

What’s the OD of a fired case mouth?

It seems excessive but I’m sure there’s some amount of case mouth tension to hold the .410 projectile in

When full length resizing theirs a certain amount of spring-back probably formulated into how they are ground.
The drawings show .4368 for the chamber at the rear and a slight taper to the front to .4352.
How does your once fired brass OD measure?

Fired case measures .433. Hornady email back, new die on the way. Still an odd thing, and like you I wonder, did I get a 10 mm die?

I am telling you that the 41 Magnum I have is by far the best shooting magnum pistol I have owned to date. I also use Alliant 2400 with good results.
