OP - are you planning on early morning / late evening hunting? If so, the Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn line may fit your needs. I have one on a 12 gauge slug gun for hog hunting and it does very well in that lighting in the pines of South Carolina. The price belies the performance.
Even though this is made for 223, I think this would do nicely for your use case. There really is nothing about the reticle that makes it 223 specific, as far as I can tell. Yes it's a "remanufactured", but I have a Monarch reburb and it's fantastic. And like a Toyota, you don't need a warranty for one of these.

I have the Vortex Crossfire II on my 350 Legend and am very happy with it. Took a deer with it during firearm season at 80 yards. I took it off of my Savage 220.

I have Bushnell Banner 2-7 x 32 on 2 slug guns, and 2 50 cal muzzleloaders ( 4 total) for over 10 years, zero problems.
