I snagged a BrassGoat for the AR-15. It's life changing. I can blast away and not have to pick up a single piece of brass nor do I lose any. Also don't have to sort brass when I get home if using different sets of brass.

There's some other good options for brass catchers but this one seems to be one of the better implementations.

I do most of my AR shooting offhand so a brass catcher that is attached was of interest.

I saw this talked about in a reloading thread about catching brass, ordered one myself from midway and it came in pretty quick.
Unlike a Caldwell net based one that attaches to the flat top then slides on and off, I can quickly move this from one firearms to the other. Also should work on my A2 carry handle AR

This is the Caldwell, Dad gave me 2 of his.

If this snow melts, I'll be able to try it out and see if there are any drawbacks to it :)

I need something like this for the mini 14. I was reading some bad reviews on the net type. Although it's not as big a problem now that club has the covid curtains up between benches

I have one around for the Mini 14.

You replaced the upper handguard with a composite on, with an insert the the main part screws into.

It has a box, then a removable net to hold the brass. You could use it without the net as a deflector to pile the brass next to your feet.

The box was able to swing out so you can work the op handle.

I have NO idea who made it. But it worked well for me.

There used to be a company that made molded solid ones that snapped on. Mainly for mil type without optics. I recall one for the FAL.

I've been using this for a couple of years, it works pretty good but you do notice the extra weight when you get 10 or more cases in the bag.

    Like 3% more?

I dump it every time I put in a new mag in so net zero :)

    re the Brassgoat

BTW, had my son try the brassgoat Sunday for the first time.
The main difference with vs the Caldwell is that on a cease fire I have to put a flag in the action so the top part of the brass goat has to come back off again. For the Caldwell, its pretty fast to do that. With the brass goat, pull the ammo bucket off bottom then pop the top part off.

Forgot to put it back on for 2nd session but no worries cause I was done at my table and his new Delton upper was ejecting perfectly at 4:00 onto my lane and I just stood there practicing my goalie skills batting them down onto the floor.
