Both are real collectors' pieces, especially in their apparent condition. When I was last looking at Winchester 62/62A rifles in similar shape, I remember Colt Python pricing (the old Pythons).

The past few weeks has been a test of my patience with USPS. The first scope I ordered from Euro Optic in Williamsport, PA on 12/3 has been 'stuck' at the Baltimore USPS Distribution Center since 12/9 and shows no indication of being delivered anytime soon. I contacted Euro Optic last week and they offered to ship an identical scope (Meopta Optika 6, 2.5-15x44) via Overnight. Got it. Tried mounting it with a set of 'High' 30mm Talley rings and the bolt handle wouldn't clear the big old ocular adjustment that Meopta uses on their Optika6 scopes. Back to square one to find a scope in-keeping with the Zephyr II's design as a carry-sporter rifle, versus a bipod-mounted varminter.

Instead of rolling the dice on another shipment, I also decided to make a pilgrimage to Euro Optic since it was only a 2.5 hour drive and I had never been there before. It's a great store! Besides having some of the most unbelievably nice rifles and optics in their inventory, they were extremely cool to work with. I mean, awesome! Fondled a few Anschutz's and Sako's before exchanging the Meopta for a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40 (177820) 30mm with side focus/parallax adjustment and wind plex reticle which they mounted and bore sighted for no additional charge.

I really can't say enough good things about Euro Optic. They are definitely a first class operation and it was worth making the drive from Frederick to be treated like a valued customer.

Zzzzz_man, great story. Thanks for taking us on the journey. Gorgeous setup. What a nice pairing. Well worth the road trip.

Thanks! Euro Optic is a cool place to shop. Anywhere that has a wall o' Sako and Tikka rifles is gonna get me to come back again.

So much temptation in that shot. I've followed their online pricing for Tikkas that I'm interested in. Always pretty competitive.

Remember that scene in Kill Bill Vol. 2 when Beatrice Kiddo was going thru Hotari Hanzo's Samurai sword collection? That's kind of how it felt for me. I had never seen a Sako 'Black Wolf' precision rifle and a stainless FinnLight with a fluted barrel but, I got to shoulder both today. :D

Went to the parts bin and built a 22lr AR from scratch using a CMMG 22lr conversion kit.
Figured with all the 22lr ammo I have stockpiled it would be a hell of alot cheaper to shoot while retaining the same motions as an AR.
Took me about a couple of hours this morn. Will take it to the range tomorrow to function check.
