Young-in just had, 20 minutes ago, a cato failure of a Bear Super Mag 48.
55lb BLAMO right at full draw.
I was standing right next to him went it blew out.

I think if it was the upper limb some one may have gotten hurt.
Wear safety glasses is the primary takeaway.
We'll see what happens, electronically reported to the manufacturer first. no one answered the phone.:mad54:

Look how the string jumped over the limbs and they still remain under tension. You can see how the glass is de-laminating at the bottom of the riser and upwards to the grip.

He's mad as hell but just has a scraped up arm and a spot of glass stuck to the face right below his eye.

    Wheh!

Dang. Thats not good. I haven't shot my compound in years but I always wore glasses with it because i was paranoid about catching something in the eye. That could have been bad.

I'm very glad that nobody was injured, that could have been serious.

Holy shit! Glad nobody is seriously hurt. Was the bow brand new?

I blew up a Martin Black Ram years ago. I was considering moving to a trigger release instead of tab. I was in my shop in my house when I drew the 'empty' bow back with the release. BLAMO! Fortunately I suffered only a few scrapes. The bow flew out of my hand. Had to pry it out of the wall.

That sucks hard. I'm glad Bear's customer service is taking care of it. They've always seemed really good, even if there seem to be more QC issues lately.
