I just saw over on the 6BR forum that the State Dept has reversed it's decision on the importation of Korean Garands. If true, this is good news!

Why can't we get a Senator like that in MD?
Did you read the last sentence where it says he led the way in blocking funding to advance the UN Arms Treaty.
    Go Jon Tester!!

ps: I am also glad that the CMP will be handling the rifles and sales.

The rifles will be sold in the U.S. through the Civilian Marksmanship Program, a non-profit organization that provides surplus firearms to qualified buyers.

Totally contrary to what the CMP themselves had said. Perhaps the senator is mistaken, I dunno. I DO hope we also get the ammo, corrosive is no real big deal IF one cleans their rifles. I use it in my bolt actions and save the Greek for my Garand.

This must mean someone in the "ZERO" administration has figured out how to illegally redirect some of the M1's to Mexican drug gangs.

That is confusing, especially with this line in the linked article...

"the State Department recently reversed its decision and will now consider South Korea’s request once an importer is selected."

Once an importer is selected? Like Blue Sky?

That would be a good guess. I had one, Blue Sky stamping on barrel. Pretty gun but the bore was wiped slick. Sold it to another member here him knowing it was slick. I didn't know they existed anymore.

Again if it goes to an importer CMP is out of the loop.
