Private Party Transfers

Well... the new law sucks and people shouldn't need to have the government or a 3rd party involved in private transactions but, since this is the new law starting next month, I'll facilitate transactions when I can. I wrote-up instructions for this here:

Are dealers required to participate , Can they just say "We don't do private transfer " Just doing the 4473 and calling it in , Then having to maintain a A&D book and keep and file the 4473 , Those will be inspected by the ATF so that's another thing they could ping you for , All that for a mere 30.00 doesn't seem worth it

It's basically the same as a regular transfer (i.e gunbroker or other online order) for the FFL except there is no shipping involved.

I don't believe that FFLs are required to participate. Like most business, FFLs can refuse business for nearly any reason including if something seems not right with the buyer. Also, many FFL holders aren't doing retail business at all.
