Outrider and rbird: Post 19 mentions SIG 365 XL.
The only reason that I mentioned polymer threads is because I had been reviewing a discussion by someone on another site. I guess it just stuck in my mind, plus I haven’t started the sight mounting yet. Trying to gather info before hand.
    Appreciate all your comments.

A different question: Which screws do you use for a Holosun 507K-X2 red dot being installed on a SIG 365XL? Package comes with two different sets. Not wanting to ruin the threads.

Okay, the Sig slide has little to do with your OP. The sight does.

So your "Different question" was in regard to your OP? You are going to mount a Holosun 507K-X2 on your Sig 365XL? And their torque spec is somewhere below 10 in/lbs?

In some pistol designs(such as Glocks), if you use too long of a screw on the right side of the slide, the screw will, in some cases, tighten down onto the extractor plunger/spring. A little 'dry' fitting should indicate any major problems, including the screw bottoming out before it tightens enough to hold the sight firmly(too long of a screw).

That's exactly what I'm saying. The sight body is polymer. A screw could theoretically be over tightened to the point the screw (countersunk?) head would apply too much pressure to the sight body. Without knowing the brand and type of sight, along with the type of screws...

This one's body is nylon glass filled polymer. Personally, I'd take a hard pass on one of these...

Total brain fart on my part, now I understand. Thanks.
