Curious - what is it about the P365 you like better than the 239?

The 239 is old school with the DA/SA version being the same as the P229 I carried for some years. I never used the Kellerman trigger but, from what I heard, I would not like it.

The Sig P365 is completely different. Unlike the P239, it is striker fired which gives you a different trigger feel, almost like a double action rifle trigger. Where as the P239 DA is a long heavy pull, the P365 initial pull is light and then there is a crisp let off. The reset is also shorter and, with a flat trigger, the release/reset is almost in the same spot.

Additionally, the footprint on the P365 is probably 33% less than the P239. Here is a good illustration of both.

I really only owned a P239 to carry with summer dress. It also was a handful in .40 S&W to say the least.

This gun fills a gap in ultra compact defensive pistols.

    10&12 round mags
    9mm
    SAO
    Hammer fired
    Manual safety
    Safety trigger
    All metal
    Thin
    Swappable back straps
    A respectable manufacturer

Where's the miss? Put one in your hand and form an educated opinion.

    No night sights
No ability to mount a light
    Non optic ready
12 rd mag "collar" is loose instead of molded to the baseplate
    No 15 rd mags

Personally I'm not a fan of safeties on carry guns. I think this one will sell somewhat just because it's something different but I'm betting that it's not going to come anywhere close to de-throning the 365 from the top spot.

Sidebar but related tangent, what's the consensus on the CS9? Anyone have/had one to share experiences?

Since I like Smiths, I like DA/SA, and I like their 3d gen autos, it seems like something to look for.

Checked out the CSX at SHOT. The trigger pull is garbage. Seriously. It's on par with a stock Glock. Not at all what I'd be looking for from a single action system.

I picked a CSX up a about 6 weeks ago. I was initially hesitant based on reports of the trigger and false resets, including those here. I handled one a few weeks before actually deciding to buy. The damned thing felt about perfect in my hands relative to other micro 9s that I'd handled. The trigger was not the worst SA that I've ever handled. However, I was able to replicate the false reset problem that has been reported in the one that I handled.

Two weeks after handling that one at a LGS, I had the opportunity to purchase one online from a range of available serial numbers and noticed a fairly sizeable SN# jump. I thought that was interesting and ended up selecting one of the later SN#s. Figured WTH, I can sell it if I'm not happy with it or can replace the trigger if aftermarkets start coming online. I'm assuming that S&W must've been paying some attention to the reviews and online chatter and made some improvements. The one I received had a slightly improved trigger pull compared to the one that I first handled and the false reset issue seems to be no more. Accuracy and reliability have actually pretty darn good out of it over the first few hundred rounds. No failures of any kind to report. Need a few hundred more rounds before I form a really solid opinion of it though, but so far so good..

I stopped at a PA gun shop a few weeks ago and held a CSX. It fit my hand better than I thought it would. I didn't care for the trigger. I've been a long time M&P fan but I don't understand why they can't put a decent trigger in them from the start like Walther or Sig.

People who complain about self defense triggers have never spent any time shooting SIMS guns in self defense scenarios. Successfully.

I have to ask. All of these shitty triggers on small guns, do those guns not fire when you tried pressing the trigger? Please someone explain to me like I'm a 3 year old. You should be complaining about GRIP instead.

Has any one tried the Shield EZ ? They are hammer fired and according to many reviewers have an excellent trigger. I am not in love with the grip safety but have seen a few who order it with the thump safety and use grip tape, Hickok ;)

For a hot couple months I worked at a gun shop, this was the hot tamale. I still think the is the premier "beginner' gun. Lady-wise anyway. Sold every single one I presented to the new shooter.

Buddy bought his wife a .380 when they came out, thinking of getting one for my wife in 9MM because she can't rack the 43X I got her.

Could be some folks like me just like a good smooth trigger. Could be some folks like me just punch holes in paper or shoot at steel targets and aren't interested in crappy triggers. Some old folks like me with arthritis and diabetic neuropathy in fingertips need a smooth, easy trigger. As a shooter since 1972, former military and law enforcement, I know what I like in a trigger and I know what I don't like. When I carry I'm not looking to get into a gunfight, I'm just looking to get out of trouble. When I carry, I just carry an LCP-II and my LCP-II has a better trigger than the CSX.
