Sorry, I've not replied to these. Just noticed the messages here.

Anyway, I still consider this to be in prototype mode and am not yet charging for the service. This means that you come over some evening and we do a test piece and your item for no charge. Irish whiskey gratuities would be accepted but not required though.

A few months down the road, I'll start doing these for $25 to $75 depending on complexity.

So.... I am able to flood the area with argon during engraving if that is a real concern (basically put a "fence" around the area and flow Argon into it). I have found that the Laser engraver doesn't heat the material to a high temperature outside of the very small beam area (you can touch the material immediately after engraving - it's warm but not hot to the touch). The HAZ (heat affected zone) is almost imperceptible on Titanium but I'm sure that there is some degree of weakening due to the removal of material. If engraving to a deep depth, this might be a concern but the ATF requires only 0.003" for NFA engraving.

I am not currently performing serialization of privately made firearms. Engraving as required by the ATF means that my FFL number will be in the serial number and will likely lead to a future trail of possible police/atf contact for traces that I would need to account for in the cost. I don't believe that the current market makes this possible.

I will, by appointment, engrave markings as required for NFA builds.
