    OK,
selling a lower to a friend. I'm walking through what HE would have to enter on his side for the transfer but what I have a heartache over is HE has to enter my DL and SSN information. WTF!
Why don't I! do that on my end?

Has anyone just shown up at the Barracks then typed all that info yourself during the transfer?

It’s been awhile. But I think as the person receiving the firearm I started the 77r and then went the barracks for the transfer and the desk trooper entered all of the sellers info.

I needed the sellers address and DL# because it was a C&R (for my bound book). But not for anything I entered in the 77r

you do the 77r online as the buyer, you need to enter the sellers info into the 2nd section.
once completed you can take that info to state police.
MSP does the transfer paperwork and starts the 7 day waiting period.
you dont have to go back to the barracks.

i just transferred a lower 2 months ago thru MSP in laurel md.
it costs $10. you need your hql, and the lower needs to be shown to the MSP when they ask you to retrieve it.

you could ideally fill out the 77r online at the barracks, give the seller your phone to put in his info, and submit together, than give the MSP your emailed info.
it helps to have the sellers paperwork to copy info over as well...
double check serial # as well.

No HQL needed to transfer a lower receiver.

The MSP desk jockey I talked to asked for mine. I got an m4e1 Aero lower stripped.
They messed up 2 other parts of the process and I had to go back and resubmit it.
    YMMV that's my experience.

likely. i just dont usually go to a barracks to stir up from what they tell me. keep it simple and move on. but i wont dissagree with you.
the guy there that day seemed to have a chip on his shoulder anyway. not everyone is as easy to deal with as the best of them.

The MSP "desk jockey" got it completely wrong.

As some one has said, the trooper will fill out anything you don't wish to share. I have done it this way both at Glen Burnie and Annapolis.

Leave it to Merryland to take something relatively simple and turn it into a gooch grab. :sad20:
