MSI, Chantilly gun show. They're kidding, right?

Apparently not. Someone decided it would be a good idea to have the last Chantilly show of 2021 and the first Chantilly show of 2022, all in the same weekend. That's right, this show is 31 Dec through 2 Jan at the Dulles Expo Center in VA. Happy New Year! If you are able to volunteer please send an e-mail to events at marylandshallissue with a .org

Volunteers get free admission to the show. (And there's nothing to prevent a little shopping before or after your shift.) Another thing worth mentioning, some vendors, upon seeing you have a vendor badge, will give a few $$ off a purchase. Not all vendors will do this, but it could be an added bonus for volunteers.

MSI now also has a volunteer incentive program, if you volunteer for a total of four shifts at gun shows (all day Saturday or Sunday counts as two shifts) you will get a FREE membership renewal!

Non resident gun show purchase

Does anyone know if a non-Virginia resident can purchase a shotgun at this show?

Under Federal law, any long gun purchase across state lines

1. has to go through a FFL dealer, and
2. the gun purchased has to be legal in both the state where the purchase takes place AND the buyer's state of residence.

So yes, you can buy anything from any dealer at this show you could buy at any LGS in Maryland.

And, handguns have to be transferred through a dealer in the buyer's home state. There are usually a few MD dealers there who can transfer handguns.

Va requires 2 forms of ID. With your current address DL and registration will work but will not process without both ( Hope it saves ya a trip to the parking lot )

Sent a note to StafTed letting him know I couldn't make it this morning (Sunday) to volunteer at the MSI table. The wife has been supportive of me living large during all of Covid, out and about before and after the Jab - including running up to PA every weekend for a part-time position, but last night for the first time she asked me to stay home. Someday I'll tell you about the heart attack I had while at depth on a shipwreck in a two knot current, dragged back up on the boat and ended up with a quad bypass and later stage 5 kidney failure. So that means I'm probably one of those at risk fellows. Her concern was not so much Covid and me, but what would happen if I needed to head off to the ER again as hospitals in our area are beyond capacity.

Probably should post this on another thread, but this China engineered bioweapon is a PITA.
