As long as we are spending money in the LGS they are our friends. When you stop buying they move on to greener individuals to fill their tills with money.

Also correct however, that one day, said dealer may find himself needing to drink out of the very same punch bowl, that once floated the turds that were served to his guests.

No doubt at all. As welder noted, we're specialized customers. We have a long collective memory. Members of this board will merrily tell any new gun owner about Cheaper Than Dirt's 2013 shenanigans. I'd like to think we remember our friends equally.

When I have tried to tell a dealer that is was ok and tried to show him corroboration, he brushed me off stating he had no time for the weird laws little ole MD has or did not have. Some, like KYGunco do a lot with MD and are a pleasure to work with. They actually told me proper and correct things that were erroneously told to me by MD shops.

Like others have stated here already, some don't want to do their homework and just want the quick sale and do not want to even invite any sort of scrutiny on behalf of the state...

Not to foster the re-creation of a CTD thread that (to put it kindly) arguably got more than sufficient mileage. But what amazes me about that particular example is that the firearms community didn't completely bury that dreg of a supply house years ago, and then throw away the now contaminated shovel. Sometimes, our memory (sadly) isn't always what it perhaps ought to be.

May we all strive to reward suppliers who try to find ways to say yes to mutually beneficial transactions when entirely legal, rather than no.

    Are manufactures any different??
Why do we not have the "Hearing Protection act" passed??
If a suppressor was regulated the same as a Sling, Scope, or stock,,, they could be bought for under $50,, or even disposable ones printed at home.
It is not in the interest of the current manufactures to have them "Unregulated"

I think they are just protecting themselves, and livelihood.

I understand that more then some owning a business all my adult life .

But the reality "some" of these gun stores are fat & happy . While some get it and want to expand the playing field like one member has stated .

Being lazy , uninformed and you pick & choose you will never grow the clientele.

Just like Bass Pro , since they made me wait and other store policies i won't buy guns from them and that was from Era 2013 . I do buy other things but won't go full retail with them .

No, this allows the unknowing to be trapped by a crazy maze of idiotic laws in each peion jurisdiction. All laws need to be consistent statewide to avoid this.

Under your proposal, the rural counties would still be subject to the state laws, which are idiotic enough. And then have to learn and memorize the even worse laws in each little county, town, parish, street block, subdivision, etc.

Not my proposal at all. It is the way it is. What I am saying is that those that live in rural counties should not be held to the same restrictions as those that live in densely populated areas like I do. Maybe I am oversimplifying and am ignorant but AFAIK possession and transportation rules/laws are pretty uniform statewide in MD. It's the discharge thing that varies.

Sorry I am going off topic with my municipality vs state musings. My $0.02, I'm fully for a free market. They don't want to sell to me in MD. Eff 'em. When the seller's market ends, I will remember.

Edit: added clarification to "off topic".

    Not a rant at all.

How hard do you think gun shops will fight against upcoming laws restricting or prohibiting online ammo sales? Exactly. You take out the competition (who have much lower prices), then you can charge whatever you want for your product and have a monopoly on supply.

Similar to that shop in New Castle, DE which successfully lobbied for the DE law requiring 4473s to be done for every gun sale. They get to make money on every transfer. You think they are on the side of freedom? Nope.

Obviously, not all dealers are like this, but enough of them are more than happy to sell your freedoms down the river for personal financial gain. Choose your dealer wisely.

Just for the record, That was Miller's Gun Shop on 13 in New Castle.

I work in Wilmington and sometimes drive by. The place is still doing a business if the parking lot is any indicator.

Folks just don't know or care what crap they pulled...but I remember.

I don't have a problem with this approach. This allows the residents of rural counties to not be bound by the idiocy of high population density blue areas (NOVA).

you should have a serious f_cking problem with this approach!!!!!!!!!!!!

this lets each county, city etc set gun laws that are MORE restrictive than those of the state.

What I would have a serious f_ucking problem with is if I lived in Garrett County and were held to the same restrictions as those that live in Southern Montgomery County like I do. The premise I am operating under is that municipalities should have the leeway to make things *less* restrictive *not* more. Got me now?

Prices would drop like a rock, followed closely by profits. Are you going to spend $800 on a rifle suppressor if there's no tax stamp? Not me. I'll make 20 a year out of parts, though.

So i can CC in Maryland as it is now , so a member is saying it is alright for another county or city to impose that i could not carry in . Is that what we see as okay . Then these stores can make up their own BS and not make a lawful sale for someone that is not disapproved .

Not right as far as i can see, Legal and Lawful is all i want , nothing more .

I was a customer of Miller's for years but I stopped after that BS they pulled wanting paper on every gun sale. I also out them to new gun owners whenever their name comes up. :mad54:

Sales spread over 10,000% new manufactures, every kid with a 3D printer would be selling a metal can with disposable printed baffles for 9.95,,
Imagine the 40' sea containers coming from China :)

Nope, the current manufactures want no part of the suppressors becoming "unregulated". would you rather make 10 wigets a week and sell them for $400 or 1000 wigets a week and sell them for $25

Hell yes it is. Sales would increase by 1000%
