In my desire to bone up on safety and responsible weapons handling, I stumbled onto the videos of Massad Ayoob.

This guy is a national treasure. His depth of knowledge, experience, clear and concise method of conveying information and his deadpan calm, reassuring demeanor really make for a valuable learning experience.

Those of you who have actually attended some of his courses must have really got a lot out of it.

Mas is a character. He’s fairly wrapped up in himself.

He is a no shit expert and he can flat shoot.

I took his MAG40 course a couple years ago with another MDS member, KENPO.

It was not at all easy. The classroom portion wasn’t passed by an attorney who attended and the range portion wasn’t passed by a LEO who attended. Both sections had tests. It was in DE in the summer.

I learned an awful lot and appreciated getting a seat.

I’ve been to a couple other outfits for training. Mas was right up there. His course was probably the most comprehensive overall.

That sounds awesome! Can you share what something like that costs?

This is the "legal" class, not the live-fire class. I took it a few years ago. While it would be great to also do the live-fire class, there are plenty of other people out there who can teach you to shoot straight. THIS class, on the other hand, is basically one of a kind. You can read my review of it here:

I have not attended any of his training corses, but I have had the opertunity to shoot with him a few times and do some training with him on how to better aproach IDPA stages.
    The man can shoot.
On a personal level Mas is an easy person to trade ideas with and one hell of a story teller.

Thank you for the info. You're write-up was very well written and helpful. I always look forward to Ayoob's articles in G&A, he sounds like a really decent guy.

Thank you for the info. $450 is rather insignificant when I consider the amount already invested in firearms, ammo, storage, and range membership. I'll look into one of his classes.

I took a couple classes and shot with him a few times. He is definitely a character but he knows his stuff. He also brings real experts to lecture in the classes. These are people who lived down in the trenches not someone who read something in a book.

He's one of the very few that has both massive experience and knowledge, but is flexible and can change with the times.

From what I've observed of his videos so far, he absolutely is on top of changes in the laws and changes in legal definitions and how cases are prosecuted in current times, vs. the 20th century. He's actually making videos about current events that are only a few months old.

I have by no means viewed the entire catalogue but I've watched some of his much earlier stuff and videos that are only a few months old. He is on top of everything.

IMHO, for what is coming, the legal side of things will be the last thing on my mind.

LOL, not looking to start it,, just survive and possibly win.
But alas, I am not privy to what is going on in the "Cool kids club",,,, yet.

I think "let's start a revolution classes" are being discussed in another thread.

Just tried to find mas’s web page. Found on duck duck search.

Was blocked from access. I did get there before, but I just recently tried access using the vpn recently discussed, proton.

Blocked, 403 error, “are you a bot...” will try again later with VPN disabled
