I never had much luck with my bring back Chinese Sks but it had seen some service. Part of the problem was the poor sights. They are great for close combat, lousy for shooting at 100 yard and further targets.

I replaced my front sight with a thinner blade. It made a huge difference. But still suck for anything other than decent light, okay contrast, within about 200 or 300yds. That said, Wolf military Classic can shoot close to 1MOA sometimes. Averages out under 2 (most steel cases with it is 3. It hates Tula).

Just finished prepping, priming, powdering and placing a bullet in 50 rounds of 45 Colt.
Tomorrow morning gonna seat and crimp them, then go to AGC and shoot them
    in my Henry.
Don't make my own bullets, but still less than $9 to load 50.

On January 1st I ordered five boxes of Hornady V-Max 224 bullets. Five boxes of 100 from Bass pro. I had them delivered to the store and went over this evening to pick them up. When I got home and opened the box low and behold there were not five but six boxes of 100 and they only charged me for five. I feel like I hit the reloading lottery

Converted 20 7.62x39 cases to 6.5 Grendel. I’m waiting to order a new Satern barrel and then will get around to fireforming them.

Had some dirty brass come in from Capital Cartridge so I finally had a chance to use the Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler and I’m surprised how clean it got everything after just 45 minutes. Everything I read said to let it run for hours. The only thing I hate is the steel pins, they are tiny and a PITA to get out of the cases, and the noise. I think it’s going to find a home in the garage.

I didn’t deprime first, so the primer pockets still look terrible after I popped them out. Will be running them through the sonic cleaner tomorrow in batches to clean them up before separating into 223 and 5.56 piles.

Do you separate for a reason? I've never done that...all 223/556 brass go into the same containers, get prepped and loaded with the same load data for my 5.56 guns. I have 2 223 rifles that I load with the lighter 223 load data but I use both 223 and 556 brass for those as well..

Today was 44 mag day, sized and primed. Bit by bit I'll be loading them with 180, 200 and 240 grain bullets. 2400, 4227 and 296, not sure what I'll use yet... suggestions, I have all 3 and others in stock.

Perhaps to separate those that need crimped primers cut or swaged, from those that don't? Once primer pockets are prepped, reloading doesn't care much if 223 brass or 556 brass.

It's mostly so I can keep the 223 separate for eventually converting to 300 blackout. It really makes no difference if it gets used for my 5.56 I just like sorting things and knowing what I have. I sort 556/223 by headstamps too so I can keep Federal and Lake City away from the random ones since they need to be checked for crimped pockets.

Related to what I did on Wednesday. Finished loading 50 rounds of 45 Colt.
Yesterday, went to AGC range, determined that I need a scope on my Henry 45 while burning up those 50 rounds.
Now have 50 brass to reload again.
Used 8gr Unique with 250gr Lead Flat Nose, seemed pretty good at 50 yards. I want to use a 75 yard zero, but I'll have to go to my friends property in WV to do that once I get a scope for the Henry.

Why, doesn't AGC allow you to have free standing target frames anymore?

Cleaned 566, 7.62x39mm cases recently received from Capital Cartridge in anticipation of receiving dies soon. If you need cases, I would recommend them as a source. My order was for 500 cases. Pulled out a few that were Berdan primed and the rest cleaned up nicely.

Powder and bullet research is ongoing. Looking to find a cast bullet and load that will be reasonably accurate and cycle an SKS. I may have to get creative with the current powder situation.

They do! There is a minimum range on the 100 yard line but I think its pretty close. Just have to make sure shots hit the berm.
I have my own stand and took it to 80 yards in the fall cause that was the distance to my deer feeder. They do have 1 or 2 wood heavy wood stands you can use but I have my own pvc one and then drop sand bags on it or a tent stake

As I recall, the range rules require a certain target height for a particular distance but I used to use all sorts of contraptions I made. ( this was way before they started selling them)

So gwfrench can zero at AGC and save a trip to West By God Virginia.

They do have fixed target holes at 25, 50, 75, in addition to 100yd on the barnes. Sometimes the holes have gunk. But, I've brought out my homemade pvc stand on the barnes and placed it at 20 yds and have also used it when I found the holes were plugged and didn't feel like moving.

The target stand you place needs to be height-adjustable, especially if you vary the distance. All shots must hit the berm. A minimum distance does apply to steel targets... They reserve positions on the right (91-100) for benchrest targets at 50 & 100 yds.
