Assuming you have a Maryland Permit you can get it done in one day. Download, complete and mail the application to the sheriff's office closest to you. Likely York or Adams County. In a couple of days they will return a letter indicating your approved status.
Drive up and pick up your permit.

First I've got to ask, do you have a Maryland permit? If not you'll not be issued a Pennsylvania permit with out one.

I mailed the application to the Adams County Sheriff on a Thursday and they called me on the next Monday to come in for pictures and to pick up the permit.

Since you live in Harford County you might want to call ahead to Lancaster County first before heading all the way out to Adams County (or even York).

Lately I have been hearing that Lancaster County is quicker with PA residents than either York or Adams, so you might save yourself some drive time.

After the drive to Lancaster it took me a whole 30 minutes total, 25 of the was just waiting in line for my permit to be printed as I was approved in about 5 mins.

    And it cost me 20.00......

How dare they make it so...........easy. TD

Yes, that really pissed me off too. My wife and I sent our application to Adams County. When we went to pick up the permits it took a whopping 14 minutes from the time we got off the motorcycle until we got back on, and that was for going thru security and producing two permits. Would have loved to have stayed a bit longer as the young lady issuing the permits was very easy on the eyes.

When I moved to pa years ago, I walked in to Washington County office, and out 15 minutes later with resident ccw.
My next renewal in Allegheny county was the policy 45 days.

The smaller the county the better, as long as you stay away from eastern borders.
