Okay, so I took it down again because things didn’t feel quite right. A high spot on left side of barrel hood. Tuner backed off slightly since the barrel is “hard fit” (not battered into submission fit). Relieved the bushing/barrel clearance with a few twists of cloth and Rem bore cleaner. Slide stop shows good lug contact. Trigger pull reset to 3 pounds 10 ounces...rules minimum plus two. Trigger pull reset to 3 pounds 10 ounces...rules minimum plus two. Shot it off my shooting bag again, forearms only on the bag. Shot the five shot group with the dollar bill. Works out to about 1.5-1.6” center to center. Shot a second five shots (not shown) dropped two a little low, one on top of the other to the red. A little too much light under the bull. Those were the shooter.

I then fired 5 more shots on the same target standing slow fire at 25 yards. The high and lower right shots were called fliers. Weak grip on the high and sight wander on the lower right...Magnumite blew it.

I think its done. Thanks for reading.

Hope the BE game is singing louder or you turn
up the volume. It's "fun" different, just like "pins"
swap out the 10 pins, for duck pins, then clear the
table, change up on things. Then you'll be building
another one..;) Sorry old school here plain sights.
and going to the Bomar sights, different, there's a
1911 here that has the S&W rear sight milled into the
slide and a long front sight milled into the slide. That one
does great on pins, the AMT Longslide is a "blast" to shoot
    pins with...:D

Love it. Gorgeous 1911. Colt went back to reproduce the original design and decided to give it a nice bluing? I'll have to look this one up. Had been thinking of a future Gold Cup, but this looks like a nice option.

    Thanks!!

Between 2003 and 2009 Colt Custom Shop made two reproduction variants of the World War I 1911.

A first production of only 3-4,000 pieces with a special finish called "Carbonia Blue" - similar to the deep bluing seen on the civilian market Colts and the initial military lots.

Then they made a second run called by Colt “1918 Model” characterized by a "Black Oxide" finish like the one used for later war guns (around 1918) when production processes were simplified. Mine pictured here is one of the more limited, second run replicas with the black oxide finish. It is the model O1918.

In addition to the gun itself, the box, manual and tool are replicas true to what was issued circa 1918.

Super envious. Is this a rare item?

I don't know if I would say rare but they were made in limited numbers and I believe they stopped making them in 2009.

It took me awhile to find one that had never been fired. I never came across a NOS one for sale - all were "used".

They are out there between Gun Broker, The Colt Forum, Arms List and the like.

Former police officer’s low round count, carried a bit TRP full rail Operator. I have been feinin’ for one of these for awhile. Tritium sights and a little work by a custom smith. Nothing major and visual. I had to do some trigger work on it and grip safety adjustment. Points and handles well, at least dry firing. Will shoot it in the next few days.

That's an odd trigger. Never seen one like that before.
