I've been shooting the Anschutz target sights for a few months. My eyes ain't what they used to be so I decided to mount a scope. As it turns out, the 8002 went out of production a few years ago. As a pawn shop find its fun and accurate, but I ain't spending a fortune on it. The front block was not dovetailed but tapped for M4 screws. After an exhaustive interweb search nothing turned up for a dovetail I could install. I milled a piece of flat bar aluminum to 11mm x 3mm x 36mm and filed the edge to 30 degrees. After a trip to the Rising Sun Ace for 2 M4 screws at .37 each and ba-da boom, ba-da bing. Homemade dovetail installed and it works like a charm. Tinkering around on the 10m range with a Banner 6-18x50 scope installed pellets are hitting on the reticle. Fun weekend project.
