Microtech for the win. One on the left is one of my EDC MT's, one on the right is a Christmas gift from my wife Christmas before last - "Bounty Hunter" (hence the mythosaur in yellow, and bad lighting). I Have had SOG, S&W, and Benchmade folders, and these have lasted better than any of them.

As for legality, outside of a couple municipalities, it is perfectly legal to carry an automatic knife as long as it is not carried concealed (and for my purposes, YMMV, having it clipped in my pocket with the clip emblazoned with "MICROTECH" is open enough), and without the specific (not general) intent to cause bodily harm. So no, stabbing a mugger wouldn't have to be on accident. Notably, assisted opening pen knives are also banned entirely from Ocean City. No, you do not need a CCW (unless you want to carry it concealed).

    A few of my recent auto acquisitions: a 4 3/4" D2 bowie-bladed Boker Kalashnikov, a 3 3/4" horn-handled Mikov Predator and a 3 1/2" D2 Cobratec hidden scale-release model.

How do you like the snap on the Mikov? I really like mine. They have to be the hardest opening auto out there.

Quite crisp...I love the polished buffalo horn and that blade is ceramically-sharpened to ophthalmologist levels now. The Buck-style leather belt sheath is a nice bonus, too!

I have an eye out for one with stag scales. Everything they make is very good quality wise.
