I picked up a gong target from an outdoor store from the discount bin and had some PVC laying around from a plumbing project. A little 550 paracord and I can ping the gong in the back yard. Less than $20 in the whole thing. Not recommended for BBs but pellets pretty much fall within a few feet in pieces and as always ensure you have a good back stop...I have a horse stall mat that I sit this in from of.

    Shoot often and always safely!

A rainy day doesn't effect the indoor range but the outdoor target and too much time brought about modification #1...added my flipper target to the bottom.

    How loud is it?

I had a thin cowbell that we got at a Hockey game decades ago.
Back when the boys were doing airsoft, I hung it from a tree in the woods that backed up to our house.

Its a bit underwhelming. I've only shot .177 at 500FPS (the ol Anschutz). I'll whack with my 930FPS .177 once the rain lets up. Now cowbell, that is interesting. Enough punch to gong the bell but not punch thru...off to eBay to find a cowbell...

You can buy round steel plates for 4 or 5 dollars on ebay and it's easy to drill a few holes in them. I've found that 1/8" makes a nice TING! with my .22 but 1/16" dents and doesn't sound like much. I've got a frame that I've hung targets from 1" to 6" to suit shooting from a bag to standing.

I just shoot tin cans. When they get shredded up too bad I just put out some more. I do like gongs, instant feed back on impact.
