When I was laoding .40S&W, there was a lot of talk about "Glock bulge" .I ran EVERY piece of brass through a bulge buster. 45acp is a lower pressure round, does it bulge like .40?

The GLOCK smiley hasn't really been an issue since the latter 1/2 of 3rd gen production. Chamber/ramp dimentions were changed to add a little more chamfer on the sides, and less feed ramp intrusion. The 45 feed ramp did extend a little further in my 30SF than my other GLOCKs, but no case bulging till you get to 45 super pressures/velocities, the it's minor, not like early 40cal models. The 45cal GLOCKs run it well with a heavier spring, can add a barrel if you want a little extra insurance, and want to extend the life of brass.

When I was using Glocks for IDPA, I switched to Lone Wolf barrels and had no issues with case bulge. From the pics above, the 1998 looks just like my G27 did back then. It's pretty apparent that Glock did change the chamber dimensions in later models.

    Just a note:
If you can SEE a bulge, throw the case away.
If you can't see a bulge and the 'plunk' test shows the hang up is a bulge down near the extractor groove, you can bulge bust that empty case.
Some folks like me, after having their P08 "Luger" choke on a round with a raised ridge near the extractor groove that wasn't there before sizing, often just bulge bust their 9x19 cases with a Lee 9mm MAK FCD and case lube.
    Inspect those cases.

Glocks have always used unsupported chambers with ooser SAAMI spec diameters to make their pistols so reliable and still functional after dragging them through the dirt, sand and mud. Just give them a brush or dunk rinse them off and get back to work.

As far as I can remember since the G22 Grenade days, Glock has stressed no Reloaded Ammo, Factory Only.

I used to sell at local shows aftermarket barrels w/threaded compensators for competition guns that had a supported and tighter chambers than OEM Glocks due to this fact.

So for TL,DR guys, Don't shoot reloads out of any OEM Glock, shoot factory. If you want to shoot reloads, go get a Lone Wolf or similar barrel.

Never heard or seen issues with reloads in Glock 9mm and .45acp. Haven’t paid attention to 40. Haven’t shot thousands of rounds, but the couple of hundred, zero issues. My 9 is running a Swenson barrel though. But my G21 is running an OE Glock barrel with zero issues.

As with all things, moderation. Run it hot and you might have issues.

Ammunition makes a difference in my P-64. PPU will bulge while RAE does not. It would be reasonable to think the same may be true in Glock OEM barrels. All of mine are running barrels with fully supported chambers so nothing bulges.

Early GLOCKs had different chambers specs, they changed them around 2005-ish when the large frame SF models came out, 40 and 10 models changed the most. The chambers are still relatively large, but not unusual, similar specs to many other service pistols.
Have run thousands of reloads through my SF and 4th gen GLOCKs, many of those reloads were with brass fired in the same pistols during practice. They all spec-ed out and loaded fine, no bulge buster dies or anything special. Most people that compete with GLOCKs seem to have similar experiences.
