    Hello MD Shooters! 1st thread..

I just picked up a 1943 Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine and I was wondering, is this 1 of 50,000 that were used in WWII before it was officially produced in 1944? I'm a complete nubie to Mosins and would really appreciate any feedback on my rifle and if anyone knows what it's worth approx.? Thanks!

    Hello,

    It would appear so.

Take a picture of the front sight and bayonet lug.

    Regards,

    Josh

Nice looking rifle, all numbers match or forced match? Did you find it in a shop or private sale?

Be sure to post a range report after you get a chance to take her out :)

    Hello,

    I see

    • wartime stock
    • single-"ear" bayonet lug
    • 1943r
    • 91/30 wartime front sight

Sure looks authentic to me!

Keep that one original. If you have the itch to modify one, buy a wartime 91/30. (Not assuming you want to; just lots of folks buy one to keep original and another, more common, version to modify.)

    Enjoy!

    Regards,

    Josh
